Plasma Pen Skin Tightening
Plasma Pens are used in a variety of treatments on skin types skin types between 1 to 3 on the Fitzpatrick scale, in order to lift, tighten and rejuvenate. A Plasma Pen can be applied to virtually any surface of the skin, and the treatment itself is very quick, especially when compared with other skin tightening alternatives. It is particularly successful and very popular in tightening and diminishing excess skin on top of the eyelid to create a more youthful appearance.
At Skinique Aesthetics, based in Manchester, our expert technicians have been specially trained to carry out Plasma skin tightening by Louise Walsh, the founding director of Plasma Pen skin tightening. The device is CE certified and the best on the market, so you can rest assured you’re in safe hands with us.
What Does it Do?
The Plasma Pen uses innovative fibroblast techniques designed to repair, reverse and mitigate the process of the skin’s laxity and texture that happens naturally over time. We target the epidermis to generate new skin cells, and also target fibroblasts in the dermis to encourage collagen production, alignment, and cross-linking. You can expect to see some excess skin to dry on the skin’s surface, but these should fall off naturally in a few days. Through this technique, you can see increased levels of collagen production for weeks and months after the treatment. The pen is also capable of carrying out neovascularisation, to help form new blood vessels to help modulate the immune response and cell maturation.
How Does It Work?
A handheld device, the Plasma Pen converts electrical energy into electrostatic energy. This is transmitted to the tip of the applicator pen by impulse. Two electrodes are separated by a type of barrier, creating an electric discharge. On the surface of this insulating dielectric barrier, a charge is collected. The plasma is discharged through the probe within fractions of a second. The nitrogen and oxygen in the air are ionised to create a kind of plasma gas, which is sustained by the device itself.
