Vascular Lesion Removal
Diathermy can be used to cauterize small blood capillaries (red veins on the face), and to remove skin tags, millia and Cherry angiomas. An electrical current is applied to the area to be treated and it produces a heat. This cuts off the blood supply to the treated area allowing skin tags to fall off and removing small red thread veins.
Red veins
Small broken blood vessels on your face can leave your face with a red, blotchy appearance. While the broken blood vessels or capillaries don’t pose any health risks, they are unslightly and can alter your appearance.
Millia
Milia are very small, raised, pearly-white or yellowish bumps on the skin. They are most often seen on the skin around the cheeks, nose, eyes and eyelids, forehead and chest. However, they can occur anywhere on the body.
Cherry angiomas
A cherry angioma (also commonly called Campbell de Morgan spots) is a bright red or purple spot made up of blood vessels. They often appear on the torso of the body, though they can develop anywhere, including the arms, legs, chest, and even the scalp. Cherry angiomas are benign (non-cancerous) skin growths and are extremely common in adults after the age of 30 years old.1
