What is lipo dissolve?
The products most regularly used are; phosphatidylcholine (a natural, soy-derived substance) and deoxycholate (commonly called PC and DC, respectively). How does it work?
Lipo Dissolve or mesotherapy involves a series of injections in the chosen area to melt away localized fat deposits. It works by attaching to fatty deposits, breaking them down over time. The fat is then naturally dissolved and flushed out by the body. Results are effective, quick, and minimally invasive. There is no recovery time after the treatment although some may experience mild bruising and redness at the injection site.

How do I prepare?
On the day of your treatment, it is advisable to drink lots of water to try and reduce bruising on injection sites. It is also advised to wear comfy clothes and to avoid strenuous exercise that day.

On the day of treatment, your practitioner will take measurements and determine how much fat needs to be targeted and provide you with an estimate of how many sessions you will need to achieve your desired weight loss goals.

Does it hurt?
It will feel slightly uncomfortable due to the small injections and after treatment it may sting a little, but this quickly subsides.
How will I feel after?
As lipodissolve is not a surgical procedure, the recovery time is very quick. It can often be termed a “lunchtime treatment”, as patients can return to work and regular activities on the same day as receiving lipodissolve. With that said, some patients do experience some discomfort in the form of a burning sensation around the sites of the injections. This is normal, and the feeling can be lessened with the application of an ice pack and the help of over-the-counter pain medicine as needed. While not common, swelling and bruising can also occur.
Are there any risks?
Short-term risks include swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness around the sites of the injections, although these will normally subside within a few days of receiving the treatment.
